Ephrem Martinez\, OSB \nOblate retreats are limited to oblates and those interested in becoming oblates. \nOblates of Saint Benedict are Christians who have experienced in some way a call to embrace Benedictine spirituality. After a time of prayer and discernment they have desired a more formal\, permanent commitment to a monastic community. By making this formal self-giving to Christ in communion with a monastic community\, the oblate embraces the time-tested traditions and values of the Benedictine way. Oblates are united to the prayer and good works of the monastery to which they are associated while they continue to live out their Christian vocation in the world. \nFor more information on becoming on oblate\, or if you are in need of financial assistance\, please email Lucy Baker\, Assistant Oblate Director. \nTo register for a retreat\, email retreat@mtangel.edu. \n(Please note: All weekend retreats begin with Vespers on Friday at 5:15 and end with lunch on Sunday.) \nOblate Weekend Retreat Rates:\n$220 Single\n$330 Couple\n$115 Commuter per person URL:/event/oblate-retreat-september-2026/ LOCATION:Saint Benedict Guesthouse and Retreat Center\, 1 Abbey Drive\, Saint Benedict\, OR\, 97373 CATEGORIES:Oblates ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:/wp-content/uploads/Oblate-Retreats.jpg GEO:45.056634549673;-122.77520340229 X-APPLE-STRUCTURED-LOCATION;VALUE=URI;X-ADDRESS=Saint Benedict Guesthouse and Retreat Center 1 Abbey Drive Saint Benedict OR 97373;X-APPLE-RADIUS=500;X-TITLE=1 Abbey Drive:geo:-122.77520340229,45.056634549673 END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20260918T160000 DTEND;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20260918T173000 DTSTAMP:20260820T233625Z CREATED:20260820T233625Z LAST-MODIFIED:20260820T233625Z UID:10000115-1789747200-1789752600@www.mountangelabbey.org SUMMARY:Mass of Diaconate Ordination DESCRIPTION:“Deacons share in Christ’s mission and grace in a special way. Email retreat@mtangel.edu to be added to the waitlist.\nwith Christin McIntyre\, MD\, PhD \nEight hundred years ago\, St. Thomas Aquinas described the inner workings of our body-soul composite with profound clarity. Discover how and why the truth of how God made us can set us free from the judgments\, lies and ungodly self-reliance rooted in our wounds. The Holy Spirit comes powerfully to our aid as we form our intellect in the truth and conform our will to God’s\, restoring the flow of grace in and through us for the healing of ourselves and others. \n\nDr. Christin McIntyre is a married mother of five who converted to Catholicism in 1997. She earned a combined MD/PhD degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Kansas Medical Center\, and returned to Oregon to complete a residency in Psychiatry at OHSU. She has been in outpatient practice as a psychiatrist in the Portland area since 2003\, transitioning to telehealth in 2020\, and now treats patients remotely in four states since relocating to Idaho in 2021. In addition to medication management\, psychotherapy continues to be a main focus of her practice. Michael Shrum\, OSB \nOblate retreats are limited to oblates and those interested in becoming oblates. \n(Please note: All weekend retreats begin with Vespers on Friday at 5:15 and end with lunch on Sunday.) \nOblate Weekend Retreat Rates:\n$220 Single\n$330 Couple\n$115 Commuter per person URL:/event/oblate-retreat-november-2026/ LOCATION:Saint Benedict Guesthouse and Retreat Center\, 1 Abbey Drive\, Saint Benedict\, OR\, 97373 CATEGORIES:Oblates ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:/wp-content/uploads/Oblate-Retreats.jpg GEO:45.056634549673;-122.77520340229 X-APPLE-STRUCTURED-LOCATION;VALUE=URI;X-ADDRESS=Saint Benedict Guesthouse and Retreat Center 1 Abbey Drive Saint Benedict OR 97373;X-APPLE-RADIUS=500;X-TITLE=1 Abbey Drive:geo:-122.77520340229,45.056634549673 END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20261107 DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20261108 DTSTAMP:20260701T234418Z CREATED:20260514T164222Z LAST-MODIFIED:20260701T234418Z UID:10000024-1794009600-1794095999@www.mountangelabbey.org SUMMARY:ĢƵվ Angel Seminary Benefit Dinner DESCRIPTION:Save the Date!\nMake a Gift \nThe Gift of the Priestly Vocation\n\n\n \nVideo highlights from the ĢƵվ Angel Seminary Benefit Dinner 2025. \n\nView Photos \n\nWe’d love to hear from you!\nEmail sbd@mtangel.edu or call 503.845.3030.\nIf you would like to discuss sponsorship opportunities for 2026\, please contact Carolyn Becic in the Development Office at carolyn.becic@mtangel.edu. \n\nThank You 2025 Seminary Benefit Dinner Sponsors & Supporters\n\nSt. Benedict\n \n \n\nSt. Joseph\nArchdiocese of Portland in Oregon\nPhilip & Barbara Brown\nDonald Claeys\nEton Lane Foundation\nLinda Keizer\nThe John Murphy Family \n\nSt. John Vianney\nStephen ’66 & Francene English\,

See\, darkness covers the earth\, and thick clouds cover the peoples; but upon you the Lord shines\, and over you appears his glory.” – Isaiah 60:1-2 \n\nIn the New Testament we hear God speak three times from the heavens\, and each time He affirms Jesus’ identity saying: “Behold\, this is my Beloved Son.” \nThis is the same message He has for each of us: Behold\, this is my Beloved Daughter. \nWhen we hear this\, do we believe it? Do we know what it feels like to live as a beloved daughter? \nToday\, more than ever\, our identity and dignity as women is being challenged. The world tells us many things\, most of which are not rooted in the truth of who God created us to be. \nThis retreat is an invitation to step away from the noise of daily life and come away for a weekend of rest and reflection. Through five different sessions\, including a guided Visio Divina meditation\, we’ll explore practical ways to root yourself in God’s love and cultivate a deeper relationship with the Lord. \nThis retreat is for women who are: \n\nDesiring to strengthen their prayer practice\nTired and longing for rest\nOverwhelmed and craving a slower pace\nLooking to connect with other Catholic women\n\nSet against the beauty and peace of ĢƵվ\, this weekend will offer generous space for rest\, reflection\, and fellowship. You’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the rhythm of the monks joining them for Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours\, the reading of psalms and scripture. \n\nRachel is a wife\, mother\, and full-time marketing executive. She has worked with Fortune 500 companies such as Nike\, Microsoft\, and Kroger and has experience launching products\, developing business strategies\, and leading teams. Rachel brings both structure and imagination to her work and\, most importantly\, believes that people always come first. \nDrawing on more than fifteen years of experience—and everything she’s learned in the beautiful\, messy work of raising three kids—she helps women trade the exhaustion of constant proving for a life that is present\, joyful\, and rooted in the Lord. \nRachel has been a contributing writer to Blessed Is She; you can read her three-part series on the Holy Spirit here. \nRachel is also a mentor for the Given Institute. As a mentor\, she walks alongside young Catholic women offering encouragement\, wisdom\, and guidance as they seek to discover their unique gifts and live out their personal vocation. \nRachel currently lives in Portland\, Oregon with her husband and three children. When she’s not making forts or playing Barbies\, she enjoys getting lost in a good book\, creative writing\, and exploring the outdoors. She finds peace in Adoration and feels especially close to the Lord in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. \nTo learn more about Rachel you can visit her website: rachelclouser.com \n\nCost: $450 single occupancy\nEmail retreat@mtangel.edu to register. From his younger years\, he always had the mind of an old man; for his age was inferior to his virtue. All vain pleasure he despised\, and though he was in the world\, and might freely have enjoyed such commodities as it yields\, yet he esteemed it and its vanities as nothing. \nHe was born in the province of Nursia\, of honorable parentage\, and brought up at Rome in the study of humanity. As much as he saw many by reason of such learning fall to dissolute and lewd life\, he drew back his foot\, which he had as it were now set forth into the world\, lest\, entering too far in acquaintance with it\, he likewise might have fallen into that dangerous and godless gulf. \nTherefore\, giving over his book\, and forsaking his father’s house and wealth\, with a resolute mind only to serve God\, he sought for some place\, where he might attain to the desire of his holy purpose. In this way he departed\, instructed with learned ignorance\, and furnished with unlearned wisdom.” —Prologue\, Book Two of the Dialogues: Life of St. Benedict (Pope St. Gregory the Great) \n\n\nLivestream\n\n  \nJuly 10\n5:20 pm – I Vespers\n7:30 pm – Vigils \nJuly 11\n6:40 am – Lauds\n9:00 am – Mass\n12:00 pm – Midday Prayer\n5:20 pm – II Vespers\n8:05 pm – Compline URL:/event/solemnity-of-our-holy-father-saint-benedict/2027-07-11/ LOCATION:Abbey Church\, 1 Abbey Drive\, Saint Benedict\, OR\, 97373 CATEGORIES:Liturgy & Devotional,Oblates ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:/wp-content/uploads/Event-Calendar-Saint-Benedict.jpg GEO:45.057137968122;-122.77490269023 X-APPLE-STRUCTURED-LOCATION;VALUE=URI;X-ADDRESS=Abbey Church 1 Abbey Drive Saint Benedict OR 97373;X-APPLE-RADIUS=500;X-TITLE=1 Abbey Drive:geo:-122.77490269023,45.057137968122 END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20270806 DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20270807 DTSTAMP:20260706T185800Z CREATED:20260706T185800Z LAST-MODIFIED:20260706T185800Z UID:10000098-1817510400-1817596799@www.mountangelabbey.org SUMMARY:Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord DESCRIPTION:“Christ’s Transfiguration aims at strengthening the apostles’ faith in anticipation of his Passion: the ascent on to the ‘high mountain’ prepares for the ascent to Calvary.
